The mission of the Mindfulness in Law Society is to educate, provide resources to, and bring together the legal profession around mindfulness and well being. MILS members include judges, lawyers in private, non-profit and legal services organizations, law professors and students, law firm administrators, and others in the legal profession across the country.


The Maryland/District of Columbia Chapter of MILS will further MILS’ mission by bringing together and providing resources and opportunities for learning and collaboration among those in our region. The co-chairs are Jennifer Dill of Ferrante, Dill & Hisle in Prince Frederick, Md., and federal government lawyer Matthew Henjum in the District of Columbia. The Maryland/D.C. Chapter will cosponsor a half-day Lawyer Wellness Retreat on Friday, May 17, from 12-5 p.m., with a networking reception afterward. It is cosponsored with the Young Lawyers Section of the Maryland Bar Association. The retreat will be held at the Sheraton Columbia at 10707 Wincopin Circle, Columbia, Md., 21044. Melvin White will be the keynote speaker. He is a former president of the District of Columbia bar, and a partner with Berliner, Corcoran & Rowe LLP in Washington. Registration is free for the first 50 who register, but $35 after that. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register as soon as you can. Dress is casual and comfortable.
