Laurie Cappello, Chair
Law Firm Management Division
Co-Chair, MILS New England Chapter
Laurie has been in law firm administration for more than 30 years and is currently the Human Resources Director of Benefits, and HRIS/Payroll at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, PC. Laurie leads the strategic direction and management of Mintz’s benefits and well-being programs, HR payroll operations, and HRIS system.
Laurie has been meditating for more than five years, and studying and practicing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for the last two years. Inspired by her experience, Laurie is passionate about sharing the benefits of mindfulness with others.
Laurie introduced Mindfulness to Mintz in 2017 via an 8-week Mindfulness at Work Program led by Brenda Fingold, and the Mintz Mindfulness movement began. “Mintz Mindfulness – Practicing Law, Practicing Mindfulness” is now a core component of the Mintz well-being program. In just two years more than 100 employees have been trained in mindfulness, and the program continues to grow. The Mintz Boston and DC offices have dedicated Mindfulness/Meditation Rooms where employees meet each week for group meditation and discussion, and are joined by employees across all Mintz offices via conference line.
Laurie is looking forward to working with Brenda Fingold as co-chairs of the New England Chapter of MILS, connecting like-minded individuals and expanding the mindfulness movement in Boston and the New England area.
